Policy on Late Submissions and Absences

Due to the short length of the course, students are expected to attend every class in-person. Students must inform their group and the instructor if they are unable to attend a class. Every class will be recorded and available to watch, along with any lecture material and in-class assignment.

Late submission of the final project or absence during the final presentation will not be accepted. If a student is unable to attend the last class, it is their responsibility to inform their group and the instructor as soon as possible in order to come up with an alternative plan. A letter from SAS, or another UNH office, may be required to receive accommodation.

Class Participation

Student’s Active Participation criteria will be determined based on the group completing the in-class assignment, peer feedback and the instructor’s own observations. A passing or failing grade for “Active Participation” will be given out each week and noted in Canvas. Students can receive no more than one Incomplete grade for Active Participation to pass the class.

If a student is unable to attend the class (either in-person or via Zoom), they will need to submit the assignment prior to the following class (i.e. EOD on the Tuesday before class) in order to receive Active Participation credit.

Plagiarism is defined as “the unattributed use of the ideas, evidence, or words of another person, or the conveying the false impression that the arguments and writing in a paper are your own.” (UNH Academic Honesty Policy, 09.3) Incidents are reported to the school dean and may be grounds for further action. If you have questions about proper citation refer to your department’s writing guidelines. You can contact me at any time on this issue. Additional resources are located below:
